Position Summary: 

The Brand Manager helps manage strategic programs and thinking for our largest client(s). S/he will help maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, developing strategic solutions and plans that best fit the agency and clients’ needs. The Brand Manager will also manage the measurement process which drives accountability and ensures goals are met. In this role, the Brand Manager ensures that the agency provides: 

  • Sound and responsible marketing counseling and planning. 

  • Innovator and influencer level communications. 

  • Delivery of a consistently superior creative product. 

  • Work that is strategic and above all creative, ensuring Grizzly’s work hits the mark every time in exceeding client expectations.


Essential Functions: 

Planning, Analyzing, Evaluating 

  • Track project budgets and realistic timetables.

  • Maintain updated status sheets for internal and external use.

  • Collaborate with team on preparation of marketing recommendations, strategies and actions for the client.

  • Review, analyze and evaluate the following (relative to the client’s needs and objectives): media output, creative output, research reports and client data.

  • Work with Senior team to define project estimates and proposals.

  • Coordinate with the Senior Brand Manager and Project Manager to create project specifications and timelines.

  • Research business objectives, challenges and opportunities of target and industry for each client.

  • In collaboration with the agency team, develop innovative and/or differentiating services.

  • Discern consumer journeys for traditional and digital media channels.

 

Coordinating & Client Management

  • Act as contact support for client.

  • Support scheduling for client communications.

  • Work with senior team to develop integrated marketing strategies and tactical plans to meet and exceed the client’s marketing and business goals and objectives.

  • Generate and drive insight for internal and client audiences around media, brands, consumers, and experiences.

  • Provide market research, analysis and insights into latest industry trends.

  • Position impact with key industry influencers and thought leaders.

  • Maintain, grow and develop existing client accounts. 

  • Champion internal systems for higher productivity.

 

Strategic Project Management

  • Help manage assigned agency strategy efforts and projects from start to finish, ensuring successful project completion against deadlines. 

  • Uphold marketing strategies and tactical plans to meet and exceed the client’s marketing and business goals and objectives.

  • Generate and drive insight for internal and client audiences around media, brands, consumers, and experiences.

  • Manage research initiatives.

  • Manage measurement, analytics, data gathering, and reporting for client(s) and agency.

  • Provide strategic branding thought leadership and expertise to expand business relationships.

  • Support development of marketing plans and creative briefs. 

  • Support client presentations.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience brand/marketing/communications strategy in integrated, brand and digital communications.

  • Interest in and aptitude for creative business and marketing solutions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly motivated, with a proven track record of supporting clients and expansion of client accounts.

  • Ability to identify strategic needs and generate alignment with key business partners.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills that encompass clear, compelling communications.

  • Ability to manage multiple business initiatives in an entrepreneurial environment. 

  • Expert knowledge of all functional agency departments, capabilities and service areas.

  • Deep understanding of a wide range of industries, markets and brands, and what it takes to stand out and service them.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with all agency personnel in developing plans, recommendations, and deliverables.

  • Positive project management and customer service experience.

 

Work Requirements:

  • Must be based in San Diego.

  • Flexibility with schedule to meet client commitments.

  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
